Dover suffered a third straight defeat on Tuesday night as they lost 2-0 at home to promotion rivals Woking.
The loss came hot on the heels of Saturday’s 5-3 defeat in the FA Cup to Eastleigh at Crabble and a home Blue Square South defeat to Basingstoke last Tuesday.
It’s the worst run Andy Hessenthaler has experienced as manager of the Whites and they’ll be aiming to bounce back when they travel to lowly Dorchester on Saturday.
Skipper Nicky Southall (pictured) admits it may a good thing that they are not at Crabble.
He said: "The results haven’t been the best recently and I think it’s a case of a reality check for us.
"We just need a win now from somewhere and playing away from home will probably suit us at the moment."
Tuesday’s defeat came in controversial circumstances as Woking were awarded a disputed penalty in the first half, as Olly Schulz was adjudged to have fouled Jamie Hand.
Giuseppe Sole netted and scored the second. An injury to Jon Wallis (hamstring) capped the evening off and he’ll be doubtful for Saturday.
