Dover Athletic 1 Boreham Wood 0
13:56, 26 March 2011
An 87th-minute goal from Adam Birchall handed Dover Athletic a nervy 1-0 win against struggling Boreham Wood at Crabble in Blue Square Bet South on Saturday afternoon.
Birchall rounded the Wood keeper to slot home his 41st goal of an incredible campaign to steal the points in the dying seconds and reignite Whites’ play-off push.
The hosts were below par for much of the game and keeper Ross Flitney needed to be alert to keep the visitors out more than once.
However Harry Baker set-up Birchall to snatch the winner and take Athletic within two points of a top-five place, with a game in hand on some of the sides ahead of them.
