Dover Athletic manager Martin Hayes says it is results rather than performances that matter

Dover Athletic manager Martin Hayes has said that it is results rather than performances which matter at this end of the season.
Whites lost 1-0 to Havant and Waterlooville in Blue Square Bet South on Tuesday, but Hayes felt they played better than they did in beating Boreham Wood 1-0 in their previous game.
Hayes (pictured) explained: “In our last three games, the two we have played really well we have lost.
“We desperately wanted a better performance (against Havant) after Boreham Wood, even though we won.
“We dominated the game and showed we were the better side, but poor finishing and some very good goalkeeping cost us. We made one mistake which cost us, we got careless in the box, didn’t mark from a corner and it gave them a platform.
“At this stage of the season it’s not about proving you’re the best team, it’s about winning."
