Dover look for an opening in Saturday's match against Maidstone.

Dover Rugby Club responded to their opening day loss in London 1 South with Saturday’s 41-0 defeat of Maidstone ahead of this weekend’s clash with rivals Thanet Wanderers.

With slope advantage, Dover dominated the early exchanges and opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Blair Charge touched down and added the extra points.

When a Maidstone lock was binned for not retreating, Charge scored from the resulting penalty.

The second try came from a line-out with the ball fed through to Charge. Nick Ford created the overlap and Ricky Mackintosh scored.

Skipper Martyn Beaumont was next on the scoresheet when he broke to score.

Beaumont scored his brace soon after when Dover No 8 Dale Tonks broke from a scrum on their own 22. Murray was in support and a neat pass saw Beaumont go over.

The second half started with Dover in control and flanker Buster Collins set up Jon Foster to score.

Dover had two players sin-binned but the hosts weathered the storm and rounded off the scoring when Jack Tomlinson went over.
