Border Force officers have seized about 10 kilos of amphetamine at Dover’s Eastern Docks.
The drugs, with an estimated street value of £400,000, were discovered on Tuesday when officers stopped a Polish-registered car after it had arrived in Dover on a ferry from Calais.
After questioning the driver the vehicle was searched and officers found the drugs hidden in the dashboard.
Rafal Wylegala, 27, from Swidnica in Poland appeared at Canterbury Magistrates Court today charged with the attempted importation.
He was remanded in custody until next Wednesday when he will appear at Folkestone Magistrates Court.
