Driver in his 80s dies after Vauxhall Meriva leaves the road on the A258 Sandwich Road, Sholden, Deal

A man has died after the car he was driving swerved off the road.
Police were called to the A258 Sandwich Road in Sholden following the crash at around 3.15am today.
Officers say a dark-coloured Vauxhall Meriva was travelling from the direction of Deal towards Sandwich when the car left the road and came to a stop on a bank amongst trees.
The only man in the car, aged in his 80s and from the Deal area, died at the scene. No other cars were involved.
Police say anyone who was in the area at the time and saw either the collision, or the car beforehand, should contact them.
