Former Green Party leader Natalie Bennett is coming to speak on the vexed question of Brexit.

Her visit is announced just after last Thursday’s High Court decision that Parliament most vote on triggering the leaving of the European Union.

Ms Bennett will be at the Landmark Community Centre at Deal High Street on Monday, November 21 from 7pm.

Just before that she will be with local party members to informally talk about policies from 5pm to 5.45pm at the La Salle Verte cafe in Cannon Street, Dover.

She has been invited by the cross-party discussion group, EU Thinking: Deal + Dover, to lead a discussion called “Brexit: Kissing Goodbye?”

The group provides a forum for all those concerned about or future post-referendum in East Kent.
Concerns about EU loans for project such as the Port of Dover Western Docks Revival have recently been voiced by Tim Farron, leader of the Liberal Democrats.

And front runners in next year’s French presidential election such as Alain Juppé are suggesting that British border should be moved from Calais back to Dover with a renegotiation of the Le Touquet Agreement.

The new chairman of the East Kent European Movement, Mark Nottingham, will also be attending the Deal meeting along with other speakers.

Natalie Bennett was Green Party leader for four years until this summer when she did not stand for re-election.

The group is now led jointly by her predecessor, Caroline Lucas, and Jonathan Bartley.
