00:01, 16 April 2016

Solley’s Kentish Ice Cream has opened a new parlour at its family farm in Church Lane, Ripple.

Customers will be able to watch through the window as the award winning ice cream gets freshly made.

Hot food and refreshments will also be sold at the parlour, which will be an addition to the Calf Shed shop, which sells produce from the farm and elsewhere in the Deal area.

Solley’s director Keith Morrison said: “We’ve been producing our award-winning Kentish ice cream for more than 30 years.

“Working in such idyllic surroundings, it’s been a natural development for us to become a tourist destination.”

He went on to assert that the parlour would benefit the economy “by creating jobs and encouraging more visitors to our beautiful corner of Kent”.

The parlour will be open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 2pm on Sunday. Free parking is available, and pre-booked groups are welcome.
