Electric bicycle promptly returned to owner, and suspect arrested, after theft in Deal High Street

A swift response by police has led to a stolen bicycle being returned to its owner and a suspect arrested.
Kent Police were contacted at 1.25pm on Wednesday, February 16, and told that an electric bike had been stolen in Deal High Street.
Local officers attended the area and reviewed CCTV at nearby businesses
This led to a suspect being identified by one of the town's PCSOs and a 17-year-old boy being arrested on suspicion of theft.
Details of the incident were also circulated on My Community Voice, a new messaging service from Kent Police that helps residents, businesses and community groups keep in touch with their local policing teams.
As a result, the stolen bike was later collected by its owner following information provided anonymously.
The arrested youth has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
