Fire-gutted care home up for sale
10:50, 31 August 2011
The former care home which was severely damaged by fire in June is now up for sale.
Fire swept through Kearsney House, at London Road, Temple Ewell, and 50 fire-fighters were called to tackle the blaze.
Now the site is on the market and being advertised as “land for sale”. It is thought the building will have to be demolished.
Planning permission has already been given for eight flats and two houses, although prospective purchasers are being told that four detached houses might be appropriate.
The land will go up for auction on September 19, and the guide price is said to be between £190,000 and £210,000.
