Five teenagers have been arrested following complaints that a paintball gun was being fired at cars and houses in Walmer.
Police were called to Court Road on Tuesday night, September 22, and arrested two 16-year-old youths, and two men aged 18 and 19 all from Walmer, on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear.
They were questioned and released on bail until various dates in October, while officers make further enquiries.
A 16-year-old youth from Walmer was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 42-year-old man from Deal who tried to intervene and stop the youths. He has been released on bail until October 23.
A paintball gun was found by police in a nearby alleyway and taken to Deal Police Station.
Sgt Guy Thompson of Dover Community Safety Unit said: "Incidents of this nature are very unusual and we are looking into the circumstances."
"I would like to add a warning that using BB and paintball guns in public is extremely dangerous and being in possession of a firearm in public is an offence for which you could be arrested."
