A flood warning which was issued for east Kent for the early hours of Sunday morning has now been removed.

The Environment Agency issued the warning yesterday afternoon but this has now been removed as yesterday's severe weather conditions ease across the county.

The warning said stormy conditions in the North Sea would lead to a surge tide affecting coast and tidal areas from Pegwell Bay to Deal including Sandwich, and Discovery Park.

As well as the tidal Stour between the sea and Fordwich, including Plucks Gutter and Grove Ferry.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: "Please be aware there are currently no flood warnings in force in East Kent. Weather conditions are as expected for this time of year."

Saturday also saw the Port of Dover experiencing delays to ferry crossings due to strong winds and heavy rain.

The Port is now operating normally with ferries running to schedule.
