An "abusive and threatening” woman who once appeared on The X Factor has been jailed again after harassing her psychotherapist – just two weeks after being released from prison.

Sharon Stewart, of Walmer, admitted breaching a restraining order designed to protect her counsellor following a three-year stalking campaign.

The 49-year-old, who appeared on the ITV show in 2015, claimed she carried out the “abusive” harassment to land herself back in prison.

The mother-of-two was jailed for three years in 2018 after terrorising her therapist and his family with verbal threats which intensified into violent acts.

She set up fake Facebook accounts, sent hundreds of messages, slashed his car roof, threw food at his door, emptied bins on his driveway and tried breaking into his home with a brick.

Her victim was fired as a result of false allegations she made about him.

And when she was jailed at Canterbury Crown Court, and handed an indefinite restraining order banning contact with him, she told family members in the public gallery: “I should have killed him.”

Now Stewart is back behind bars after bombarding her victim with emails and a gift card sent to his home address.

This week, the therapist told the same court: “She was released at the end of July and within a period of about a fortnight threats to my life and harassment began again.”

“Die,” was written on one gift card received from internet retail site Funky Pigeon in August.

In four other emails, Stewart wrote “it’s all over now” and “it was nice (mucking) your life up”.

“Can you help with the voices in my head telling me to kill you,” she added, alongside emails containing vile insults.

Reporting Stewart's renewed abuse, her victim told officers: “Once again I took this as a threat to my life.”

“Fast-acting” officers arrested her in August following five breaches, the court heard.

Handing down a 16-month sentence on Tuesday, Judge Catherine Brown told Stewart she had “no doubt” her threats “would have continued” were police not to have intervened.Dec 21

“You stalked your victim who had the threatening conduct by you take place over more than three years, and the impact upon him was considerable,” she said.

“On your release from custody at the end of July 2021, within two weeks, you again started harassing your victim in breach of your restraining order.

'I have no doubt you would have continued had you not been arrested.'

“The contact you made with your victim was abusive and threatening as a whole.

“The renewed campaign against him continued until August 10 until you were arrested, a period of about six weeks, and I have no doubt you would have continued had you not been arrested.”

Mitigating, Kerry Waite said Stewart intended to be arrested after finding herself homeless.

However she now “understands she cannot conduct herself in that way,” he added.

“She was at a very low ebb and felt at the time a return to prison would be best for her and it is very sad when people find themselves in that position.”

"She understands she can’t conduct herself in that way and she acknowledges this from her guilty plea at the very earliest opportunity,” he said.

Appearing at Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday via videolink from HMP Bronzefield, Stewart, admitted five restraining order breaches.

Stewart appeared on the X Factor under the name Shazpaz in 2015 to perform her version of Kiesza’s Hideaway.

She described herself to judge Nick Grimshaw as a “basic housewife classically trained in the choir at church”.

But after forgetting her words Stewart resorted to a hip hop dance known as body-popping.

She later told the national press how she felt "used" by the show and claimed footage of her disastrous audition had been edited to make her look bad.

She also appeared in the dock on ITV's Judge Rinder when complainant Debbie Pinfold claimed Stewart had recommended her son repair Mrs Pinfold's computer, which he left in a state of disrepair.
