Four people have been arrested after a smash-and-grab raid on a jewellery shop.
Diamond rings were taken when two men on a motorbike used a hammer to break the window of the store in Deal High Street.
Kent Police today arrested three men - aged 20, 21 and 30 - on suspicion of burglary. A 23-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
All four are from the Dover area and are in police custody.
Officers were called to the A Simmonds store at about 4.50pm yesterday.
The two men are believed to have been riding a red and white Suzuki motorbike, which they drove off at high speed towards north Deal.
One was wearing a black helmet and a blue puffa-style jacket. The other had a white helmet and was wearing a dark-coloured jacket.
DS Ben Loose said: "We think that the bike was purposefully revved loudly to disguise the sound of the glass breaking and so it would have drawn people’s attention to the incident.
"We have already spoken to a number of witnesses near the shop but would particularly like to hear from anyone who recognises the description of the bike, the two men, or who saw where they went."
No-one was injured during the incident.
