A fundraising page has been set up in memory of a much loved sister who took her own life after a two-decade battle with bipolar disorder.

Claire Worsley from Deal died on August 25, aged 42.

In her latter years, she enjoyed concerts and shows but recently slipped back into a depression prompting her to retreat to France, this summer, for three months with her brother.

Her family believe the change of scenery allowed her to find 'peace' but sadly upon returning to Kent, her 'demons got the better of her'.

Paying tribute, big brother Darren Worsley, who has set up the GoFundMe page to help pay for her funeral , said: "Over the course of being in France with me, she got so much better.

"We had the time of our lives. She absolutely loved the place which gave her peace.

"She was my best friend, always loyal to me. She looked after me and never judged.

"We were blessed to have that family re-kindling later in life. It was like when we were kids.

"But her demons got the better of her."

Born in December 1977, Ms Worsley was brought up in Dover and attended St Richards Primary School and later St Edmunds Catholic School.

She went on to work for Saga in Folkestone and Iceland in Dover but experienced bumps along the way as a result of her mental health struggles which started in her early 20s.

She had two sons Levi and Alfie, now 20 and 15, respectively, who Mr Worsley she loved dearly but were cared for by their mum, Sandra.

'We had the time of our lives. She absolutely loved the place which gave her peace.'

In recent years, she settled in Deal where she met her 'soul mate', Ben 'Gilly' Gill.

Mr Worsley said: "As a young girl she was a shy, quiet girl but boy did that change!

"She had a unique sense of humour.

"She loved having a great time with her core friends. She was the soul of the party."

More than £1,000 has already been donated ahead of her funeral which is for close family only.

Mr Worsley said: "We're very grateful and the response from her friends has been staggering."
