The family of a Deal mum, who died after being struck by a train, has announced details of her funeral.

Donna Spicer, 32, of Cowdray Square, had been out with a friend in Broadstairs before returning to the town’s railway station in the early hours of Tuesday, August 11.

The alarm was raised at 2am and officers from British Transport Police attended, along with paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Sadly, Donna was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miss Spicer was a mother of three children, aged four, seven and 13. She was a cleaner and a former pupil of South Deal Primary and Walmer School.

Her mother Beverley Douglas described her as “loving, caring – the perfect daughter”.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The funeral will be held at Barham Crematorium at 10.40am on Thursday, August 27 followed by the wake at the Three Horseshoes pub, in Mongeham Road, Great Mongeham. It was Donna’s wish that no black be worn.

Family flowers only and donations, if wished, to Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital can be made via J Dilnot Smith & Son, 184 Gladstone Road, Deal.
