A student at Dover Girls’ Grammar School achieved the best results in Kent with seven A grades at A-level.

Abigail Cunliffe-Hall smashed records with a clean sweep of top grades in business studies, chemistry, geography, history, mathematics, further mathematics and general studies.

“Abi is ready to take up her place at Somerville College, Oxford where she will read history and economics,” said head teacher Judith Carlisle.

“These are our best results at A-level since records began! The students have achieved exceptional grades across many subjects, and all the staff are delighted to see such high levels of success."

Emily Farbrace will go to St John’s College, Cambridge, where she will study Natural Sciences. She achieved four A grades in biology, chemistry, mathematics and psychology, with a B in general studies.

Natalie Bradley’s six A grades ensured her place at Newcastle to study dentistry. Jennifer Ashcroft achieved five A grades and one A grade at AS and will study maths at the University of Kent.

Boys’ Grammar School head prefect Jack Williams has secured his place at Cambridge University after gaining six A grades in his A-level exams.

Jack, who also gained distinctions in two advanced extension awards, will be studying law at St Catherine’s College.

Head teacher Sally Lees said: “Once again, our students have done very well and been rewarded for their efforts. I am delighted that so many of our students will be progressing to university to continue their studies.

“Jack Williams achieved his outstanding results while holding the demanding role of head prefect and heading up a successful business enterprise, the Green Footprint Group, an incredible achievement.”

Successes continued with the GCSE results.

Mark Osmond, from the Dover Grammar School for Boys, gained 13 GCSEs, seven with A* and six with A grades.

And Faye Wiles, from the Girls Grammar School passed 10 GCSEs, all with A* or A grades, as well as three AS levels, also with A grades.

That gave her an incredible points score of 912. The average is 556.

Head teacher Judith Carlisle described her pupils’ results as exceptional.

The school achieved the best GCSE results it could with 100 per cent of the students gaining at least five A*-C grades including English and maths.
