Kiran Grewd, 26, donated 17 inches of hair at the back and 12 inches of hair from the sides to help children undergoing cancer treatment.
Her long brown locks were lopped at Indigo Hair Salon in Kingsdown.
It will be used by Little Princess Trust which makes wigs for children going through chemotherapy treatment.
Krissie Richards from the Upper Street salon, said: “Kiran asked if I would cut her hair, it was definitely me who was more nervous!”
After growing her hair for four years Kiran was happy that her hair was long enough to donate to the children.
She said: “You have never lived until you have done something special for someone who you may never meet.
“No one has ever become poor from giving. Today I’m speechless and so happy that I’ve finally had it cut.”
