Deal residents who want to find out about how health care is planned in east Kent can watch a short video explaining how it works.

The film was produced by NHS South Kent Coast Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the organisation that is in charge of picking which outpatient services we will get at Deal Hospital.

Separate to the video, this month the CCG will start an engagement process to determine which services will be commissioned for Deal Hospital and the video could be a useful watch for anyone with an interest in our hospital.

Dr Darren Cocker said: “With a budget of £253 million, the CCG has a duty to communicate its message to the local people who contribute to the NHS.

“We want residents to know what our priorities are, what we’re aiming to do, and what determines our priorities.”

The CCG is holding a meeting, provisionally booked at Deal Town Hall between 2pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday, January 28.

People will be able to discuss what their hopes are for outpatients at Deal Hospital.

The video on healthcare in Dover, Deal and Shepway can be viewed on the CCG’s website at: www.southkentcoastccg.nhs.uk or by searching South Kent Coast at www.youtube.com.
