The high-speed trains will be arriving in Dover on time, and on budget.
That’s the assurance Dover and Deal MP Gwyn Prosser was given when he was among the guests who enjoyed the first high-speed passenger journey of the new Class 395 bullet trains from London to Ashford.
“The new high-speed trains, which will start running between London and Dover in December are state-of-the-art machines,” he said.
“We reached 140 mph on our maiden run through Kent which is faster than any other domestic service in the United Kingdom.
“When the service starts the journey between Dover and London will be cut to just over an hour. The project is still on time and on budget.”
