House hit by lightning in Dover Road as heavy downpours thrash Deal

Fire crews have been called to a house in Deal after it was hit by lightening.
Two engines remains at the scene of the property in Dover Road which fell victim to this afternoon's extreme downpours.
A spokesman said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 2.49pm to reports a property had been struck by lightning in Dover Road, in Walmer, Deal.
"Two fire engines have been sent to the scene."
The incident is ongoing.
The entire town took a thrashing at around 3pm as the skies opened with not only rain but hailstones.
Shoppers were evacuated from Aldi in West Street after its ceiling tiles crashed down over the tills.
Roads including Gilford Road, Middle Deal Road, Church Lane and Southwall Road appear to have suffered temporary flooding.
A cottage in Middle Deal Road was threatened by the water but kind builders stepped in to help.
Hannah Price, who captured this image, said: "The lovely E&D builders came to the rescue of my friend's cottage in Middle Deal Road.
"They quickly made a makeshift sandbag to protect her house from the wash of speeding drivers."
Another resident captured an impressive shot of a funnel cloud over fields next to Dover Road.
