Award-winning film Chasing Ice is to be shown in Deal next week at a meeting of the environmental group Deal With It.
Campaigners have been working since last year to show the movie and it can be seen at the Astor Community Theatre, Stanhope Road, on Sunday, November 17, at 7.30pm.
Deal With It co-ordinator Steve Wakeford said: “We have wanted to show this amazing film since it was released in 2012. We are using the film to highlight the work of Greenpeace to save the Arctic.
“Afterwards there will be a talk from Greenpeace on their Save The Arctic campaign.
“We are very grateful for the support of the Astor Community Theatre to make this event happen.”
It took three years for the Extreme Ice Survey to document with time-lapse photography what was happening to glaciers.
Mr Wakeford added: “The film is a stunningly beautiful and stark record of what is happening to our climate.”
Doors open at 7pm and the the screening costs £5. Go to www.dealwithit.org.uk.
