Police have searched the cliff tops at Dover after a laser device was shone at the bridge of an incoming ferry.
It is thought to be the first time that such an incident has been reported involving a ferry at Dover.
Despite an extensive search of the area by police it was not possible to find the culprit.
The authorities are warning that this is a very dangerous practice and that anyone caught using a laser light in this way will be prosecuted.
