A man has been charged with money laundering after rolls of cash believed to total more than £100,000 were seized from a car.
Ricky Lewis, 35, was arrested after officers from the Dover Community Policing Team seized money from a car in Mongeham Road, Deal, on Saturday.
The money was enough to fill seven evidence bags.
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are currently investigating the incident.
Lewis, of Wakehurst Drive, Crawley in West Sussex, has been charged with possession of criminal property in relation to the cash.
He has also been charged with possession of a weapon in relation to a home-made taser.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court today, and was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday June 8.
