Delays built up after a lorry's cab roof blew off and smashed into another lorry's windscreen.
The incident happened about 1.5 miles from Whitfield on the coastbound carriageway of the A2 near Dover at around 11.45am today.
The driver of the lorry hit by the roof suffered minor injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Both carriageways were blocked and traffic on both came to a standstill, with diversions put in place.
The A2 has now been re-opened in both directions.
