A lorry loaded with chocolate biscuits was completely destroyed by fire on the A20 near Capel on Monday night.
Fire fighters from Dover were called to the scene just after 11pm when the Portuguese lorry driver noticed smoke coming from the trailer of the vehicle as he drove towards Folkestone.
When the first fire crews arrived the cab of the lorry and two thirds of the trailer were completely engulfed in flames.
Extra fire pumps had to be called in, together with a water unit, to transport water from the nearest hydrant at Capel.
The road was closed for several hours as the fire crews pulled the wreckage apart to put the flames out.
