Man charged with assault and possession of blade after disturbance in Hillcrest Gardens in Deal

A 49-year-old man has been charged with three counts after a disturbance in Deal.
Police were called to Hillcrest Gardens shortly before 9pm on Monday.
Officers attended and a man was arrested nearby. No serious injuries were reported.
A spokesman said: "David Blackwell, 49, of Clarendon Place, Dover, has since been charged with assault, possession of a bladed article and criminal damage.
"He appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, July 1 and was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on a date to be arranged."
