A flat in Leivers Road, Deal, has been destroyed by fire and smoke after what police described as a domestic incident.
Fire crews and two pumps attended the blaze at 4.40pm on Tuesday September 15 where they searched the flat for casualties before extinguishing the flames which started behind the fridge in the kitchen.
Kent police spokeswoman Rosy Alexander said police had been called at 4pm to reports of a man refusing to leave the property and threatening to harm anyone who entered.
"Officers became aware that smoke was coming from the house, and KFRS attended.
"The man came out of the house and was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with very minor injuries," she said.
