MP Brandon Lewis, the minister for local government presented Deal with the Daily Telegraph's High Street of the Year award

Deal played host to MP Brandon Lewis, the minister for local government today who came to present the town with a certificate for the High Street of the Year award.
Mr Lewis was joined by Charlie Elphicke, MP for Deal and Dover, Mayor of Deal Marlene Burnham and the Deal Town Team.
Mr Lewis said: "There's a really good mix of shops, niche, independent shops.
"It's really impressive all these different groups coming together, not just the council but the whole community coming together that's what's so good about it."
Crowds of people also gathered in the high street to watch the presentation and see the new banner which was contributed to by a number of traders.
The Deal Town Team then took Mr Lewis on a tour of the High Street, showcasing the many different businesses and shops in the town.
