Jonathan Shaw talks about
his visit.
A government minister has
been in Dover today to find out for himself about the
regeneration plans for the town.
Jonathan Shaw, who is Minister for
the South East, met with MP Gwyn Prosser and representatives from
Dover District Council and the Port to discuss the various schemes
that are being put forward to attract more industry and more jobs
to the town and building new homes.
He stressed the importance of
finding people with the right skills.
As well as hearing about plans for
a cable car to link Dover Castle with the town centre, Mr Shaw was
given a tour of the port and heard about the plans to develop a
second ferry terminal at the Western Docks.
