More residents have spoken out about problems they have experienced with their mobile network and signal.
After Peter Tullo, of St George’s Road, Deal, complained about EE service and said he feared two masts had been decommissioned in the area, many other readers have got in touch to share their experiences.
David Sadd, of Gladstone Road, Walmer, said: “I joined EE this time last year and had no problems, particularly in my home.
“However, about two months ago I noticed loss of signal leading to ‘no available network’, people not being able to contact me, and failed texts messages.”
Mary Venables from Deal said: “We experience a bad O2 signal in the Peter Street and Ark Lane area of Deal. We still have to go to one room upstairs to make calls.
“We’ve been told that the nearby Lloyd Court building is probably blocking the signal rather than the strength of the signal itself, but surely if the mast was adequately positioned buildings should not be a problem? “We changed from Orange a couple of years ago, but O2 are no better.”
Mick Smith, from Deal, said: “I’m with the Three network. I’ve been with them now for about 18 months. I live in Bridgeside and get a good signal there but if I’m in the town centre seafront area, Middle Street or Deal Pier then I never get a signal.
“Neither do I at Kingsdown sea front adjacent to the Zetland Arms. I have contacted Three on many occasions to report the problem but to no avail.
“It’s very frustrating when people standing next to you who are with different providers have a good signal and you don’t.
“We all pay a lot of money every month whether it’s pay as you go or monthly contract to these providers for a poor service in a lot of cases.”
Brian Jones from Kingsdown added: “We have two contracts with Orange/EE and in the last two months have experienced several days at a time without any signal from the Kingsdown mast.
“This has been reported to EE and it would appear that they do nothing unless you make a fuss.”
Mr Tullo says he was told by a representative from the mobile network that two masts had been decommissioned in the area.
EE insists that no masts have been decommissioned and that a full service has been restored to the Deal area but many people are still experiencing problems.
