The 25-year-old moped rider who died on New Year's Eve on the A2 between Canterbury and Dover has been named.
Adam Cothill, (pictured left with his girlfriend Anna Jones), was riding towards Dover when it is thought he hit the central reservation near Shelvin and came off the moped.
It's believed he was then hit by a lorry as he lay in the road. The lorry driver may have been unaware what had happened as it was dark and the Mr Cothill was wearing dark clothing.
The coastbound carriageway was closed at 7.10pm and was re-opened at 11.20pm.
Police checked lorries parked on the A2 and at the Port of Dover but were unable to trace the vehicle, believed to be foreign registered, that was believed to be involved.
Anyone who saw the crash or the moped being ridden leading up to the crash is urged to contact the police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
