Runners from Dover, Deal and Sandwich set off on London Marathon challenge

Runners from across the district have set off to complete a grueling 26.5 mile course at the London Marathon.
This is the 36th year of the world's most famous fund-raising race.
Here’s a selection of those taking part:
Kerry Creasy of The Fairway, Deal, has battled with alcoholism in the past. Having overcome her troubles, it made her see that kids are everything. She is supporting the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

Specialist nurse Bronwen Lafferty, 36, of William Pitt Avenue, is aiming to raise £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Natasha Cloke, 34, of Minnis Lane, River, is supporting Mercury Charity of the Year Pegasus Playscheme in her marathon bid today.
Mother of one, Miss Cloke, works for Carol Peters coach travel. her cousin's son has benefited from the play scheme, and she is delighted to finally get a ballot place.

Nick Moore, 26, from East Langdon Road, Guston is running the marathon for Lord's Taverners, a charity which helps disabled and disadvantaged children get into sport.

Gary Dunster is running for the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) which helped him and wife Jodie learn about their son Isaac's deafness.
Gary, 42, of Walmer Gardens, Deal, is a security manager at Discovery Park.

Carpenter's apprentice Tom McGlachlan, 18, wants to help keep disabled children mobile and is supporting Get Kids Going.
The average cost of a wheelchair is £4,000 so he wants to raise as much as he can.
