A Deal pensioner, who was killed after his car went over cliffs at Capel-le-Ferne, has been named.
Emergency services received a call after the tragedy happened at Old Dover Road - the area known as The Warren, between Dover and Folkestone on Tuesday, January 18.
A rescue attempt was mounted by Kent Fire and Rescue’s line rescue teams, the HM Coastguard, Kent Air Ambulance and paramedics, but 65-year-old Roger "Codge" Cobbett was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police spokeswoman Rosy Alexander said: "We’re not treating this as suspicious at the moment. His family have been told."
The first call for help was made at about 2.40pm
Nobody else was involved in the incident.
The car was found close to where it was seen driving over the cliff, opposite the Varne Ridge Holiday Park.
Police officers are continuing their investigations by speaking to witnesses.
