East Kent Ploughing Match on Wednesday proved to be a big success, despite a downpour in the afternoon.
The rain held off throughout the morning for the event at Ledger Farms, St Margaret's, and visitors had a chance to enjoy a packed timetable of events, from watching horses ploughing fields to inspecting the latest technology in farming at the trade stands, including a £225,000 tractor.
There was a parade of foxhounds, welly throwing competitions, displays by a hawking centre and plenty of country crafts on show.
The East Kent Ploughing Match Association Women's Section marquee was packed with entries, from decorated cakes to floral arrangements, and there were stalls galore to visit.
All the pupils from Cartwright and Kelsey Primary School at Ash left their classrooms for a day out at the event and teacher Rhianna Bridges said the children particularly enjoyed the mud and the horses.
