Preparing for the festive season - Dover's Christmas lights are up!

More than two months before the big day, the Christmas decorations have been put up in Dover’s main street.
They are due to be switched on at celebrations, organised by the town council, on November 23.
Dover Lions Club will be sponsoring the combined charities Christmas card sale at St Mary’s Parish Centre in Dover this Saturday from 10am to noon.
Several charities will have be displaying their 2013 range of Christmas cards for sale and there will be a raffle. Tea and coffee, biscuits and cake will be available.
The Lions will be selling a range of Christmas cakes from rich fruit cake, iced or plain, to a speciality cake with stem ginger topping and two cakes specifically made for diabetics. Prices range from £3.50 to £6.
The cake stall will also be at De Bradelei Wharf every weekend up to Christmas starting on October 26.
Now members of Dover Rotary Club are preparing a musical sleigh to tour the town and three villages in December. The musical sleigh will also be on parade when Dover turns on its Christmas lights in the Market Square on November 23.
Santa and his elves will be touring Whitfield on December 16, Temple Ewell the following night, River on December 18 (6 to 7.30pm each night) and outside Morrisons supermarket at Charlton Green on December 19 from 9.30am to 3.30pm).
Members, who are collecting for various charities, will also be handing out lollipops to children.
