Deal and Dover primaries in Blow Out workshop as part of the Bold As educational programme by Deal Music and Arts
00:01, 25 February 2019
A musical workshop served as a good blow out for kids as part of the Deal Festival of Music's Bold As project.
Pupils from Warden House, Sandown Primary, The Downs Primary School, Sir Roger Manwood, Priory Field and Barton Junior School were taught to play a trumpet on brass and plastic instruments during the day of music at Goodwin Academy.
Put on by the festival's organisers, Deal Music and Arts, Bold As is a year-round programme in partnership with Kent Music which introduces many young primary school students to learn the trumpet or trombone.
Led by Phil White from The Philharmonia Orchestra, the young players are given the opportunity to perform with professional musicians.
The Blow Out project was led by musical director Graham Harvey and resulted in an afternoon concert for parents and siblings.
Bold as education project is now in its fourth year. The next Blow Out will be on May 19 and 27.
The 2019 Summer School will be from Monday to Friday August 12 to 16 at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School in Dover. It is open to all ages.
Deal Music and Arts has announced its 2019 festival and the programme is packed with fantastic international artists, young performers, jazz, community events and lots more.
