A Kent pub has been recognised for the state of its toilets.
The facilities at the Sir Norman Wisdom in Deal - run by Wetherspoon - have been rated as platinum by inspectors from the Loo of the Year Awards 2021.
The toilets are judged against numerous criteria, including décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment and overall management.
Daniel Sutton, manager of the Queen Street pub, said: "We are delighted with the award.
"Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."
Loo of the Year Award inspectors made unannounced visits to thousands of toilets at sites across the UK, in order to judge them.
All of the toilets are graded silver, gold, platinum or diamond with unacceptable toilets not graded at all.
The awards are aimed at highlighting and improving standards of 'away from home' toilet provision across the UK.
The Loo of the Year Awards 2021 managing director Becky Wall said: "The toilets at The Sir Norman Wisdom have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well
maintained.
"The pub deserves its platinum award."
The Sir Norman Wisdom is housed in a former furniture shop and Job Centre, and is named after the comedian who spent time in Deal as a child.
Having been born into an impoverished family in London, Norman was sent to live in the town but promptly ran away. He returned and grew up in Deal.
He went onto become a noted actor, comedian and singer and was once described by Charlie Chaplin as his 'favourite clown'.
In 2019, a Sandwich youth centre was recognised for having the best Community Centre toilets at the same awards.
The Phoenix Centre picked up the gong along with a National Eco Friendly Toilet Award.
