Bloody Mary’s
You’re always served with a smile by staff who remember your names – and that goes for the doggies too.
There’s usually a bowl of water in it for our furry friends, and if you’re good, cheesy treats too.
In our opinion it’s Deal’s top spot for waggly tails.
- 160 High Street, Deal. Open 4pm to 8pm Thursday and Friday, 7am to 8pm Saturday, 10am to 7pm Sunday.
Kearsney Abbey Tearooms
Picture it, The sun’s out, the sky is blue, you’ve walked your dog - and he’s walked you too.
You’re both gasping from the exertion, and the tearooms offer hot and cold refreshments, ice creams, breakfasts, sandwiches and hot meals to enjoy on the bench or on a picnic rug.
Your hound can have a slurp and rest in the shade while you take in the view.
Stunning.
- Kearsney Abbey, Alkham Road, Temple Ewell, Dover
The Square: Incorporating the King’s Head, Port Arms and Dunkerley’s
It’s Deal’s premier vista overlooking the English Channel and our pier, so why should we enjoy it while the dog is stuck at home? Take him with you and sit in the shade. He’ll benefit from hundreds of strokes, loads of water and maybe you’ll flip him a piece of your scampi.
- Beach Street, Deal. Open all day seven days a week
Zetland Arms, Kingsdown
Whether you’re an inside or outdoors type, the dog friendly attitude at the Zet is obvious. Just look at the pub’s resident dog, Bruno. Whether it’s for a full meal, a cooling summer’s day drink, or a warming hearty dish after a blustery winter’s walk, the Zetland is a canine favourite.
- Wellington Parade, Kingsdown. Open 10am to 11.30pm Monday to Saturday, and until 10.30pm on Sunday.
The Black Douglas
If the smell of rustic meaty dishes doesn’t lure you in, your four-legged friend will surely be tempted. The laid back attitude of the staff at the Black Douglas makes it a regular haunt for many dog owners – if not for the coffees, cakes and main dishes!
Or head across the road to The Royal.
