How brainy are the people of Dover?

Townsfolk and visitors can put their knowledge to the test on Thursday at the Big Screen in the Market Square.

To celebrate International Paralympic Day, BT is running a quiz across the giant screens in town and city centres up and down the country with prize winners being picked at random from the top scoring venue at the end of the day.

“It will give people living, working or just visiting Dover a chance to really be a part of the exciting build-up to London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said James Weaver, BT’s regional director for the south east.

“International Paralympic Day will be a great opportunity for the public to experience first-hand the inspiration and excitement that the Paralympic Games will bring to the UK and London next year.”

The main event is taking place in Trafalgar Square where a full day of activity is planned.

Paralympic content and quiz questions will run on the Dover screen throughout the day from 11am to 6pm. To get Dover to the top of the leader board and for a chance to win one of five Panasonic digital cameras, people should go to the big screen and text 83310 with the question number and the answer – remembering to start the text with DOV (for Dover).Messages will cost the standard network rate.

A leader board showing the most knowledgeable cities will be displayed on the screen throughout the day.

“This is a really fun way to celebrate International Paralympic Day and get into the spirit of London 2012,” said Mr Weaver.

“The Live Site here in Dover can really pull the community together and we can test our brains against the rest of the UK. It’s a great example of the power of communications and BT is excited to be part of the International Paralympic Day celebrations.”
