Man, 21, arrested after seagull kicked to death in attack on Deal seafront

A young man from Deal has been arrested after a seagull was kicked to death.
The 21-year-old was held by police over the attack on Deal seafront that left the bird so badly injured it had to be put down.

Kent Police said a group of young people had been seen throwing stones at the gulls.
One of the birds was left dazed after being hit by a stone. It was then kicked repeatedly and ended up in the sea.
Members of the public managed to rescue the seagull, but it was in a state of severe shock with a broken leg and wing, and cuts. It later had to be put down.
Police released details of the attack, on Friday, June 14, today.
