A man has been rescued after falling from the quayside in Sandwich and getting stuck in mud.
Firefighters, coastguards and paramedics were called after colleagues of the security guard reportedly heard him calling for help at about 9.30pm last night.
Two lifeboat crews were called out, from Ramsgate and Walmer, to help with the rescue.
Les Coe, boat house manager from Walmer Lifeboat Station, said: "We all got down here but were stood down before we left."
Firefighters using specialist mud rescue equipment managed to get him to safety and he was treated by paramedics.
Crews left the scene around 10.22pm.
