Pervert Robin Cheesewright from St Bart's Road, Sandwich, dies in HMP Swaleside prison

A pervert from Sandwich, who was jailed for “monstrous” child sex crimes last year, has died.

An inquest has been opened following the death of Robin Cheesewright, 81, formerly of St Bart’s Road, Sandwich.

In January 2015 he was found guilty of seven historical counts of child sex attacks at Canterbury Crown Court and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.

At the time of the conviction he was 80.

The offences relate to incidents which took place during the 1980s and 1990s.

He died in HMP Swaleside on Sunday, March 20.

No cause of death has been released. The inquest was adjourned until a later date.
