Donated patch work quilt will be raffled off for pupils' India trip

Students have teamed up with a business woman from Deal to hold a fundraising raffle which will help pay for a trip to India.
Davina Brunt from Mileage vintage shop and tea room has donated a stunning quilted bed throw to pupils of Castle Community College.
They are selling tickets at £1 each, with proceeds going towards their fund. It will enable them to join the Gerry Martin Project, which helps build communities in India.
Already the group of sixth formers have held a beauty day, cake sale and a fitness fundraiser.
John Rowarth and Owen Mullaney will row the equivalent distance of the English Channel on machines at Deal Rowing Club on March 20. there will be a sponsored bounce at the school at the end of March too.
Tickets for the raffle are available from Mileage, 156 High Street, Deal, or from the students individually or the Mercury Office, 13 Queen Street, Deal. The raffle will be drawn at the end of May.
