Young children were encouraged to love their town in an artistic workshop at Green Park Community Primary last week.
Dover Smart Project hosted the event at the school, in The Linces. Directors Dawn Maddison and Liz Gibney whipped out the paints in a creative session.
The team has visited several schools over the last three months to encourage children to love Dover.
The scheme, named My Dover Project, encourages pupils to see the wonders of the town and draw what they feel represents their district.
Director Ms Gibney said: “These children are a credit to their school – the values they have and the attitude they displayed were exemplary.”
Better weather meant that the children could take their art class outside, where they began creating pictures of Dover on two large canvases.
Their work will be used alongside that of other pupils at the My Dover Art Exhibition which is planned for April. Dates have not yet been finalised.
Mrs Maddison added: “All of the children in the project should be proud of the way they have depicted their town.
“It reflects the green shoots of recovery which are emerging from the innovative and exciting experiences we have provided for them.”
The workshops have come about as a result of funding the Smart Project has received from town councillors Pam Brivio and Gordon Cowan.
The directors added: “Smart would like to thank Pam and Gordon for funding the project and all the schools involved for being so receptive and open to new ideas.”
