Special commemoration planned for 11-11-11

A special Remembrance Day commemoration is being organised at Dover Town Hall in November to mark the fact that this year will be 11-11-11.
“The eleventh day of the eleventh month of the eleventh year will not happen again for 100 years,” said Barry Williams, of the Hellfire Corner Association.
"This deserves a Remembrance Day event worthy of the name and we, in conjunction with The Swingtime Sweethearts, are organising a concert and service.
“It will be a night of entertaiment but also one touched by memories of those who have given their lives for our country and those serving in conflicts overseas today.
“Think Royal Albert Hall, think Last Night of the Proms. It will be a night that all of us attending will remember.”
Tickets will be £12.50 and a souvenir programme will cost £2.50.
“We are offering sponsorship packages to local businesses for £200 with a range of benefits,” said Mr Williams. “And we are anticipating the support and/or participation of at least one famous person.”
Half the profits will go to a forces charity and the other half will help fund the next Frontline Dover Weekend.
