Police are appealing for information and witnesses after an attempted sexual assault on a teenage girl in Dover.

The girl, aged 15, took a short cut across the field near Edred Road at around 10pm on Saturday July 4 when she was approached from behind by a man.

The man tried to grab her and pull down her jeans, but she managed to run to safety.

The offender is described as a white man aged in his 30s, five feet 10 inches tall, and of medium build.

He was wearing a black t-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms with two thin red strips down the legs.
