A Dover carnival princess won a national title at the weekend.
Tegan Dickenson, who is a junior princess with the Dover Carnival Association, took part in the National Carnival Guild competition at Stanford-le-Hope in Essex on Saturday, and was chosen as Junior Miss Guild.
She succeeds another Dover girl, Honor Precious, who won the title last year.
Ten-year-old Tegan, who is a pupil at White Cliffs Primary College for the Arts, only became a member of the Dover carnival court for the first time this year and has been to all the carnivals that the junior court has been invited to.
This Saturday she will be attending her first official engagement as Junior Miss Guild, the Hornsey Carnival presentation night.
Tegan has a busy time coming up during the next few months as she has also been chosen for the children’s chorus in the Dover Operatic and Dramatic Society’s panto Cinderella, which is due to be performed in January.
