“Bully boy tactics” will not deter bidders to reopen and run the closed toilets at Dover’s East Cliff. Former mayor Sue Jones and her business partner Ross Miller say they will not give up hope of running the toilets, and nearby shop, despite failing to win support from the town council.
Changes to plans for the redevelopment of the St James’ area of Dover have been approved by district councillors. The scheme involves the demolition of buildings including the Burlington House office block.
Friends of Michael Kerr, the 30-year-old Dover man stabbed to death at Capel in April, are shocked that flower pots and other tributes to him have been vandalised and taken.
There are suggestions that a former Dover cinema could be preserved and returned to its former glory, following a ministerial decision to refuse to allow a similar building in London to be turned into a church.
Police hunting a man who attacked a young mother as she drove along a country lane have said it could have been a case of mistaken identity.
