Tour operator puts business on the market

Tourism entrepreneur Richard Mahoney who runs the White Cliffs boat and mini-bus tours, cycle hire and a cafe on Dover seafront, has put his business up for sale this week.
He says he is disheartened with the lack of support from the authorities.
“I turned 60 on Monday and I’ve been running the tours for about 20 years,” he said.
“I am trying to sell it as a going concern and I hope someome will take it over.
“But I haven’t had much help from the authorities and I am a bit disheartened. It’s not inspiring to work in tourism in this area.”
In March last year he was criticised for painting the entrance to the Grand Shaft in Snargate Street and for the location of a tourism kiosk on the seafront. He has also clashed with councillors over the use of the town crest on his vehicles.
